Well, here it goes. After running my previous tank for 5 years I am finally embarking on a new journey. This should be the biggest challenge I've ever faced due to sheer volume of the aquarium but it should also give me a lot of creative freedom when building my ultimate reef.

I will be using this thread to document my progress and share my thoughts on how it will develop, plus adding some videos along the way as it will help give more color to the experience.

And speaking of the experience, the build will be called "The Experience" or "Reef Experience". This is probably my 20th saltwater tank, you might remember my previous tanks that I'll reference below as well, but I still think of my Pragmatic Reef as one of my favourite tanks and Practical Reef as an SPS smoke show.

Here's what my new tank looks like right now.

It is a bittersweet moment when the tank is being shutdown, but you got to make room for new growth.

Levelling the tank to the absolute perfection is a must for such a large aquarium. I'm using four levels, one of them is a laser to make sure that the tank is sitting just right and that the weight is distributed evenly. The legs on Waterbox make it a lot easier than back in the shimming days.

Thinking of going with the following equipment:
Lighting - 6 AI Blades, 4 grows and 2 glows
Flow - 4 MP60, 2 on each side
Return - EcoTech L2

Based on the picture of your previous tank I’m excited to see where you go with this one!

Is the tank half full or half empty?

For salt I decided to do something different and go with Waterbox reef salt. Never used it before but it is ICP tested and I am curious how my corals will take to it.

The tank is alive now officially. Here's a quick video of where things are at right now:

As nice as your previous tank was I probably would have ended up with a second tank lol. I just moved a WB 330.7 in and am in the process of setting it up to replace an aging 180g. My 180 isn't nearly as nice as your previous tank but I'm really getting antsy about the move.

Well, today is the day, I'm shutting down my 4 foot Waterbox Infinia tank and moving all of the fish over to the new one. Let's take a good last look at it.

Best of luck to moving everything over!

I was honoured to visit a few incredible aquariums last couple of weeks, still thinking about them and wanted to share.
