First, thanks to everyone that responded to my last post about GFCI adapters and getting that situation all figured out.

Now I'm looking at adding a grounding probe at least to the sump.

If I understand correctly after watching a Youtube video on these, the grounding probe will pick up stray voltage emanating from any of the devices in your aquarium. Voltage picked up by the titanium rod, then carried to the grounding pin plugged into the wall socket and out to the electrical grid/aether/cosmos.

Question 1: If that is true, then it shouldn't matter what outlet the devices are plugged into and what outlet the grounding probe is plugged into, right? For example, here is my current power/safety design:

Wall Outlet 1:
-> GFCI adapter automatic, single outlet, 12/3 gauge
--> Surge Protector 6 outlet
---> Hydros Power Strip #1
-----> MP40
-----> Helio Heater
-----> Plank
-----> Plank Pump
-----> USB: Fans
---> Noopsyche K7 Mini
---> Noopsyche K7 Mini

Wall Outlet 2:
-> GFCI adapter automatic, single outlet, 12/3 gauge
--> Surge Protector 6 outlet
---> Hydros Minnow
---> Hydros Power Strip #2
-----> Finnex 300W heater
-----> Return Pump
-----> Reef Factory
-----> Sump Pump
-----> USB: Fans
---> Noopsyche K7 Mini
---> Noopsyche K7 Mini
---> Kessil a160we

Wall Outlet 3: (on other wall):
-> Extension Cord
--> Mini Fridge

I could plug this grounding probe into the Wall Outlet 3 extension cord along with the mini fridge, and it would protect against stray voltage coming from devices on Wall Outlet #1 and #2. Correct?

Question 2: What am I meant to do with the "additional grounding eyelet"?

Please don't judge harshly! I'm a klutz when it comes to all things electrical, and household in general, actually. Thanks!

@fishguy242 Frank, if this needs a longer explanation (hoping it's a yes/no) feel free to call!

Ohh - I don't enter ground probe conversations for the most part. They turn very quickly into Dunning Krueger contest auditions of the ugliest kind.

If you want to use the probe, just make sure all of your stuff is GFCI protected. It does not matter what receptacle the probe is plugged into. The additional eyelet allows you to run a wire to something else that needs to be grounded or can tie the the case of the receptacle. etc. It is just another ground point.
