Hello,

I have a RS MaxS 500 and got a Vectra return pump to replace the RS pump the tank came with.
I also got the screen and barb kit but cant figure out how the pump fits into the plumbing. Am I supposed to pull off the black fitting that screws onto the old return pump and stick one of the barbs from the screen kit into the vinyl hose? There are not instructions for this and I am new to reefing and don't have any experience with the plumbing part of the hobby haha.

Ok haha. Any tips for getting the original fitting off of the hose? I tried pulling it out but wasnt able to.
You can try pulling the hose off and soaking it - but barring that you may need to cut the hose. If this would end up shortening the hose too much to reach the pump you may simply want to invest in a new matching length of hose to attach to the new EcoTech barb (bring the barb along to size the new hose).
