Hello - I have been trying to remove the stock skimmer to make room for two heater (redundancy) in the sump. Seems like there are numerous challenges with this due to the design of the Red Sea, i.e., light mount is blocking a possible hang on skimmer, cabinet too small for a sump etc. Anyone has any experience with doing this, skimmer recommendations, or a sump template? I am not necessarily looking for a cheap solution but a meaningful update that helps with the tight space. Thanks!

Personally, I think on a tank that size you don’t need a skimmer. Maybe just go with a HOG or Drop algae scrubber instead for nutrient control? You’ll get better PH benefits without stripping the water of beneficial food and it doesn’t take up nearly as much space.
