I have a 75gal tank. 48x21x18. It had s plastic border around the top with a center support and I have 2ea hinged lids. I want to mount a Red Sea light, but it looks like the mounting hardware is designed for tanks that do not have the plastic rim around the top. I really don't want to cut away the rim. Are there any solutions people have had to adapt or modify the mounts to fit? Thanks for any clued.

Yah. It's still a very common design for a tank. Really surprised (disppointed) that Red Sea doesn't have a mounting option already out there for this situation.
They didn't really design the ReefLEDs for anyone else's tanks...
