Hello everyone! This forum helped me a lot on deciding where to start and what to buy!!
I’m converting from fresh water to saltwater!
Got an awesome deal for a 425XL at a local shop near me. Shout out to Rainbow Aquarium!
Everything should arrive this weekend.
Need help setting it up
Can you guys post up your rock set ups?
I want to get ideas on how to position mine.
Thanks!

Howdy,
What kind of deal are we talking? I’m currently in the market and will be buying either a Red Sea reefer 350 or 425 xl in the next week. How good was the deal? Maybe I’ll check this place out.
cheers !

Do you like rock walls or the less is more approach?
Are you planning on sand bed or bare bottom?

Exciting times and congrats on your new tank.

Take your time setting this tank up. Patience is key!

I paid cash so he was able to knock off some numbers plus no taxes.
after my research I would stick with the 425 over the 350 I was in the same boat lol

I have a 175 red sea reefer it is amazing you want the rockwork to be spread out and have a lot of hiding spaces I would reccomend these fish to start off with are you planning to have it fish only or a reef tank

1.Pair of clowns
2.Flame or coral beauty angel
3.Royal gramma
4.Yellow tang

What made you pick the 425 vs the 350?

The price was worth it after the “special pricing” cuz I paid cash. But also after reading and researching
Everyone stated to go with the 450. The size difference is small but makes every difference. Ultimately I don’t wanna spend so much money to later on be like oh man I should gone with the bigger one.
go big or go home right? Lol
Except no 150 gallon tank

I know it's a bit bigger, but here are some pics of my rock work on my 750 XXL before and after sand...

I wanted lots of swimming and hiding space since I was planning on getting several Tangs. Flash forward a year later and my 5 Tangs love the setup.

Hope that helps. ;Happy

Hey welcome to the club guys! I have the 425xl and really like the space and depth. The site has endless ideas for rock work and an Aquascape forum. And here is mine

That’s a nice tank! How do you keep your white sand so nice and clean like that?

Anybody interested in a crack tank? I don’t think it’s bad and will still work. It’s how it arrived so it’s brand new.
Red Sea is sending a replacement so I have no need for this tank. Lmk we can work something out?
