I am looking to purchase reefled red sea lights for a Red Sea 3XL 900L.

i see red sea advise to use either 4x90 or 3x160

can anyone share what is the best option for a mixed reef tank, predominant LPS but some SPS

thankyou!

You can do either; Red Sea themselves does recommend both options so what do you like?

Personally, i'd go with four of the 90's ; gives you a bit more flexibility..

thankyou

however it does state this

  • 4 units of ReefLED 90 or 3 units of ReefLED 160S lighting with bespoke mounts (Deluxe models only)

therefore it could go either way?
Aye you can chose either; price might not be the same though so check that!

It's pretty straight forward mate ;) And luckily there is no right or wrong answer.

as stated above, I would go with 4 x 90's for flexibility ie. if you want some areas in your tank to be more or less lit.
