Red Sea 300XL build

Well, as I took down my nano tanks and prepare a 120gallon custom Sps build, I really wanted a stunning mixed reef. After lots of back and forth I decided on the Red Sea 300XL. This is my first Red Sea tank and I must say, I didn’t want the “custom” headaches, this thing is truly plug and play.
here is where I am with tank and equipment.
300XL Red Sea tank white stand
2x Reef wave 25’s
Simplicity 120 DC skimmer
Simplicity 1600 return pump
Custom baffle (I set up some extra bio filtration as my scape is very minimalistic.
just purchased an ALA algae reactor (sweet)
Lighting is two radion G5 XR 15’s and aquatic life T5 hybrid with two blue plus and two actinics.
I run aqua forest elements and tropic marine bio active salt.
coming soon is the GHL brain for the tank, KH Director, master and slave doser.

Coll aquascape, almost like you have gymnasts in your tank performing. What kind of rock and adhesive did you use to make them?

This looks really nice! Impressive. I have just sold my 425XL and have bought 300XL to replace it in my office. This scape is almost exactly what I was planning for it. Can’t wait to see what you do with this tank.

Coll aquascape, almost like you have gymnasts in your tank performing. What kind of rock and adhesive did you use to make them?

Marco rocks - mix of shelf and base or odd shapes.
for epoxy I use it all- Marco cement to fix transitions, superglueand putty for majority. The magic is using the fines from breaking Marco rocks in to pieces filling transitions and cement then use thin superglue to set it. I’ll post some photos of the process

Nice rock work! How much time did you invest into that. I have the same system. Ditched the filter cups and went with clarisea sk-3000

How do you like the skimmer? My first simplicity, I’ve never had a ton of reliance on a skimmer, always use fuge or algae reactor. I went back and forth on the roller mat idea, super cool concept, still may do it.

I have 2 reactors and a algae reacactor. Kind of over kill but i feed heavy and have a heavy bio load on the tank.

Filter roller was my best decision. I wish i went with it in the first place after spending over 100$ on socks. Just annoying having to switch it out all the time.

the skimmer is fantastic. Went with the 240.
