It's more than likely Cyanobacteria. It's common in the early stages of a SW tank. How long has the tank been up & running? If longer than 6 months, I would say you might need to increase your flow in the tank.

If its slimy and easily comes off the rock its cyanobacteria, if it does not rub iff easily its an algae and I would leave it alone. If it's cyanobacteria you can increse flow but more than likely there is an excess of nutrients in your tank that will need to be addressed. What are your nitrates?

It looks about the same color as cyanobacteria and sounds like it too. There are types of red algae that look about the same color but that algae does not come off very easy. There are reef safe cyanobacteria removers, our you can also look into getting a Halloween hermit crab, they love to eat it, but don't need it to survive ;)

Looks like Red Coralline to me. If you can wisp it away with the wave of your hand, its cyano, but if you havento scape it off with a finger nail, its coralline, and thats a good thing.
