I have an older Red Sea Max250 AIO and am looking to bypass the back filtration system with a Fiji-20 sump system to have a higher capacity filtration system. Has anyone successfully done something like this? My tank doesn’t have the drilled bottom.

My goal is to implement the ReefMat 250 or the 500.

Any thoughts or feedback on how you reconfigured yours would be appreciated

Do you potentially have a picture of what it would look like? I'm trying to get a visual idea of what it would look like.

i don't have my rsm 250 anymore, but there was an optional chiller fitting part that attached to the back in the hood and provided for an outlet and inlet into one of the chambers. i think it went in the chamber to the right of the skimmer chamber and while not ideal, that might offer you the plumbing feeds you need to get water in and out. probably a pain in the butt to implement, but good luck.

Hubert... yes.. that is one thought. However, that attachment is no longer made. I suppose one can be created but i think it's too far on the right side, in the area of the smaller return pump. My thought is to simply put a pump on the back side about 1/4 of the way down, seal up the areas where the water would flow as the "filter" area and then create returns over the top into the return pump section. I think i need to create a drawing of it.
