So my current LFS is being a bit unreliable with my salinity and i've been interested in mixing my own salt for a while now. i currently have a 20g nano reef with a 10g sump, but i'm going to be upgrading soon to a 120ish gallon reef. I'd like to know what a good RODI unit is that won't break the bank but isn't gonna be awful. Also if you could recommend brands of salt it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the BRS 4 Stage Value Plus RO/DI System - 75GPD but I upgraded to the 150GPD by adding another 75 gallon ro membrane. I love Bulk reef supplie's Rodi units because they are affordable and probably the best ro units around.

Ya I've heard the BRS models are very good and affordable, I'll likely sit down later today and pick a RODI system out, are there any specific features I should be looking at or are those exact models the ones I'd be interested in?

Get a used system and put good quality filters/ro membrane/di resin in the used system. The canisters and plumbing are all the same. Filters are the difference.

Other places sell spectrapure where you can get a pretty good deal on shipping if you just shop around. I read a ton of these forums and BRS and spectrapure were at the top in pretty much all of them. I went with spectrapure myself but in reality either one is good, prices are close so it's just a matter of finding the right deal and unit that has exactly what you need. Ironically both BRS and spectrapure units look pretty much identical which makes me wonder myself if they are all that different.

New poster here even though I've followed for years. + 1 to the Air, Water, Ice unit! Affordable and quality unit that has worked without a single hitch for 6 years now. Air, water, ice support is also outstanding!
