Hi Guys

Day 9 of dr Tim’s fishless cycle using one and only.

I accidentally added 4 ppm total ammonia by day 4.

I’m also dosing daily with microbacter 7 for more bacteria.

I’m now on day 9 of the cycle and here’s the readings I’m getting

using api test

ammonia 1.5-2ppm
Nitrite 2ppm
Nitrate 10ppm

using salifert

ammonia 0.5-1
Nitrite 1-2 ppm
Nitrate 25-50ppm

is this normal or did I mess up the cycle and need to do a water change?

Didn't mess up...hard to prevent nitrogen cycle (foundational building block of life on earth all all). You'll probably want to do a wc in a day or two when ammonia is near zero. But shouldn't take more than that when you're producing nitrate. Don't worry about nitrite - not toxic is saltwater.

The WC is just to reduce nitrates. Common to do...almost required. Nothing to do with correcting any cycle issues.

Congrats on cycling your tank.
