Hi,
im currently trying to raise MG level from 1130 to 1230 or 1300. I’m dosing fusion 1&2 with Apex Dos and testing with Trident. Tank is Red Sea 425 so about 120 total water volume.
CA is 425 - KH is 8.2 - MG is 1130.
I’m using Red Sea liquid MG, adding 30ml over the last couple days by adding 30 ml a day. It gets up to 1155 or so and then drops again To 1130. Do I need to add a larger dose but not to exceed 100ppm is a day?

You can add 100ml of Red Sea Magnesium to get your levels up. It won't hurt a thing. I don't know what size your tank is, which would be helpful, but I have dosed 200ml in my 80g system at once with zero trouble.

Of course if you do 100ml dump a little into a high flow area, then wait 30nsecinds and dull some more, etc. Don't sump it all at once.

I would not be sure the magneisum is that low, as opposed to test error or low salinity, but a boost is a fine plan since a bit high is also OK.

Magnesium is not being consumed in the day or so after your addition. Any changes you see post dose are either it still mixing in, or test error. Real magneisum consumption is about 1/10th of the calcium consumption and rarely more than 1-2 ppm daily.

Thank you, will have MG tested with other testing methods
