So tank looked great all day. This RBA is from a local that supplies lots and lots of variety of nems. I've only ever had carpets in the past so this if new.

I came home (gone 4 hrs) and my favorite nem is crawled back from front of tank to rear, deflated, there's pieces of its tentacles around it and the tank. I have no fish. Cleaner shrimp, smal squat lobster, peppermint, maxima clam, flame elec scallop... corals and 3 other rba are perfectly happy.

That 0 nitrates is a problem. Probably not the problem currently, but that animal is starving because of it.
Just fed him water temp mix of frozen food last night. It gets target fed 2-3

Agreed 0 nitrates that's not helping and working on it...

So it's oddly in the same general area where my "kansas" rainbows split. But I don't recall seeing a blood bath of tentacles around the tank when one of those Kansas split
There shouldn't be. A few maybe that detach.

It's unlikely it walked to a powerhead across the tank, then back to it home rock after.

"Peppermint" or lobster could be an option too.

Id still be looking around for another split.

Maybe it's in the process of splitting (fingers crossed)
