Ive got a 20L that im building out. It will have 24" of viewing in a peninsula setup. I was planning on buying a radion, but the AI Blade just came out. The idea of having 3, 21" (2 grow, 1 glow) Blades is very enticing. The plan is for sps dominant. What are your thoughts?

IMO I think the AI Blades are over priced and overhyped. As mentioned above I would suggest you take a look at Quanta Bars and Ali Express led bars (aka Popular Grow). The AliE bars are pretty cheap and you can customize your spectrum either through the seller or diy. Also, you can get more for your $ by looking at used lights. Just my 2 cents.

I think you will like the coverage of the AI bars. You should look at quanta pro bars. You get a great spread and spectrum for a killer price.
Coverage is definetly a deciding factor to take into account. I feel like the AI set up will deliver a more consistant spread and less shadowing. Ill take a look at the quanta pro bars, i dont think ive heard of them

Reefbreeders is also a good option that I would choose over the new AI blade. That being said I just switch from 2 ai hydra 32s to two xr15 g5s and I’m glad I did.
Ive been an AI guy since the Vega. Its tough to switch brands. Ive looked into reefbreeders, they dont seem to sit right with me for some reason

Any LED bar that uses lenses, will need to be mounted quite high to get the proper spread and eliminate hot spots.

The Blade is superior to any other LED bar out there unless someone does want to mount the lights super high.

3 Blades will be PLENTY for that setup. 2 would likely work as well but being peninsula (I own one as well) I understand wanting it to be uniform.
Its that GD OCD. Lol. Yeah having it look uniform is one thing. Having uniform coral growth is another

If your about the brand then I would say go with the radion since ai and ecotech are owned by the same company. I currently have the 2 radions set up on my main display and an old ai prime set up on a frag tank that’s plumbed in and they are all through mobius and everything works well together.

Forgot ti mention. On that system I would run 1 xr30 or 1 32hd.
If you want bars look at orphek 24" bars. 2 would be all you need.
Mount them 14" from the water .

After switching from halides I really like the 1hr ramp ip down feature.

On a standard 20 long? 1 blade MAYBE 2 and you’ll cover way better than any single puck light.

These things will really be awesome for smaller tanks.

After seeing PAR from multiple sources (not just BRS) they are going to be unreal for larger tanks as well.

Where do you find that? All I saw was the little thing in their spotlight video and the resolution was too low to even see what the numbers were.

You'll get alot more mileage and value out of the g6. The AI bars won't do much good if you get a bigger tank in the future. If you ever want to change lights the g6 will be easier to sell too. That's if you're stuck on those lights. Personally reef breeders all the way.
