I want to setup a CO2 scrubber with a solenoid/motorized ball valve connected to my hydros.
The only thing I am worried about is the aquarium is in my bedroom so I would like the valve to be fairly quiet and it seems most of them are kind of loud.
Does anyone know of any really quiet 12v valves?

I am interested in how people respond to this. I am using the Hydros DC Solenoid on both the Hydros system and via the drive port and on a GHL system using a breakout box. The solenoids don't make any noise at all.

I think the normal hydros solenoids have very small openings. I have a 1/2" airline so I would like a bigger opening to avoid restricting airflow. I would also need 2 of the normal valves and use 2 drive ports.

I need to switch between ambient air and the scrubber. With a valve like this

I can do it with 1 drive port.

I got a response on Amazon about the specific ball valve I linked. Someone says it is really loud and takes a long time when activated so he thinks it would be a bad idea to have one in your bedroom.
I need an alternative that is quiet but maybe I am dreaming.

This one on Amazon? It is awesome! It is also the loudest thing in/on/around my tank, besides triggered leak detectors.
:D

No big deal in a tank room. But unless you enjoy dreams influenced by the sound of a screaming banshee, then I'd personally go with something else for a bedroom setup.

Motorized Ball Valve- 1/2" Stainless Steel Ball Valve with Full Port, 9-24V AC/DC and 2 Wire Auto Return Setup by U.S. Solid https://a.co/d/j4Boyj7

Thanks for your input! You believe the U.S. Solid valve should be quieter ? It is also a lot cheaper too!
