So I have a pretty bad Dino issue. I’m pretty positive it’s Large Cell Amphidinium. Not sure how it happened because my nitrates stay around 10 and phos is always between 5 and 8ish , but here we are. So I’ve seen the silicate dosing advice but that doesn’t appeal to me. My question is …if these things stay primarily in the sand bed, would it be helpful at all to vacuum the sand out and run bare bottom for awhile? My sand bed is not that old as the tank has been running about 5 months and is fairly shallow. Thoughts???

Have you checked the phosphate recently?

PS I dose silica for sponges so silica dosing isn't that bad if you are worried. However, I have doubts about how diatoms are competitive with dinos
