Hello,
I have been using this particular fertilizer in my freshwater tanks with a lot of success when it comes to plants and such. I recently picked up some Gracilaria algae from my local fish store on a whim and now I am bottoming out on nitrate and phosphate overnight. Would this particular fertilizer be safe to dose into a saltwater aquarium at a lower dose? Or should I absolutely look into a saltwater alternative like Chaeto Grow?
If I should not dose this into a reef/saltwater aquarium, what specifically makes it unsafe? I would love to learn.

Thank you for your time,
-Amber

Just be aware ChaetoGro is not exactly like salt water alternative it contains no nitrates or phosphate.

That’s where I am running into problems - I’d love to dose the fertilizer I currently have on hand but I don’t need the potassium. Too bad there is not something I can run this fertilizer through to yank the potassium out. I would just like Nitrates and a slight phosphate. I’m assuming making my own batch is going to be the best bet.
