Hello all, and happy Friday! So I came home from work today and one of my power heads had slid down and apparently beat the crap out of my photosynthetic gorgonian . You can see the damage. Should I leave it alone? Trim the damage off? Will it grow these areas back? I just have no experience with this. Any help pl. thank you in advance.

I’d leave it. Mine had lost quite a bit of tissue during a shipping snafu that had it in the mail for four days. It had about 1/2-1” of skelton on every tip. It grew back.

There usually ok with a pounding, that must have been some flow.

Just snip the dead so it don’t attract pest algaes.
Well it is just maybe 2 inches away from the power head. But that power head is pointing at the surface for agitation, which works great, but it is the type with suction cups rather than magnetic, and for some reason it slid down today which put it pretty much right on top of the gorgonian. I feel horrible for the poor coral, I have no idea how long it was like that. May have happened right after I left this morning. Either way, that power head will now be a magnetic one for sure.

Doesn’t look bad at all.
Looks fluffy and happy fully extended to me.
Very nice piece for these days.

Thank you! Yeah I do love it. It seems very happy, but when I came home and saw that damage it kind of freaked me out a bit, because it is so healthy and happy.
