Hey all, I just got some new corals from a local about 2 days ago. 1 Xenia frag and 1 hammer frag. I acclimated them with a drip line and everything before putting in my tank. I've had a Xenia before but this one is very shrunk and unhappy, same with the hammer coral.

I've been told that sometimes it's normal and that they just need to acclimate and that it can take awhile before they open up, Is this true or do I have a major problem here? If so how long before I should see them open up?

Here's my water parameters:

Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 5 - 10ppm
Phosphates: 0ppm
Alkalinity: 9 (161.1ppm)
Calcium: 20 (400ppm)
Magnisium: 1320ppm
PH: 8.1
Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 77.8

Been done cycling for awhile, algae bloom is over, no swings.

I acclimate coral but not by drip and xenia generally takes 48-72 hours to start pulsing and looking lively. Assure moderate light and moderate to medium flow is provided

I agree to just give it a bit more time. It wouldn’t hurt to get the phosphate up a bit, as both species like

What should I Aim for? 0.1-0.2?

Do not mess with levels until xenia has adjusted. You dont want to change values with a new coral introduction

Phos level of .04 is good. Regular feedings alone will increase it
