Hi all,

I have a 32gal BioCube that is currently home.only to soft corals. I've tried some SPS & some other stony corals, but they've all died & I suspect it's because of my lighting, since ce all of my params are correct.
Originally, I si.ply used the LED panel that was inside the lid of the tank, but I recently switched to a Fluval Marine LED that has blue, cool white, red, & purple adjustable lighting. It was $110, but the more I read the more I think I should've just spent a little more to get something better.

Having said that, what do yall recommend fora nano tank that would work best for sps, lps, soft & mushroom corals?

Hoping to stay in the $150 range, but am willing to go to the $20] range, as well. Do not have the ability to hang, so has to be something with some type of legs or that can be used with a clamp.

Links appreciated!
TIA!!

I have this CURRENT fixture on my 40B and I love it! You can program it with a 24hr light cycle too so it is all automated, if you want to you can get the flux powerhead and program that altogether with the lighting (super cool and I ended up getting two and it's all on one remote).

Anyway, I have Acans, hammers, zoas, GSP, Xenia, Leptastrea and Monti under them and they are all doing very well.

To add: are Umols equivalent to par? I.E. 140 umol=130 PAR or is there a conversion?

-The correct term for "PAR" is ppfd. That's whats measured.
The measuring devices are quantum meters..
The units are
PPFD is micromoles (umol) per second per meter squared.
opps.. repeat.. sorry

well I don't feel like deleting this so I'll add trivia to it.
Note "par" is a description and unitless.

Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) spans the visible light portion of the electromagnetic spectrum from 400 to 700 nanometers.

Just got a PAR reader actually because I am interested in how my LED fixture measures up to some of these other reefers results.. but if PAR is PPFD.. why are my results in decimals when all the other readings I see are non decimal numbers?

maybe a silly question but I've looked all over for some sort of conversion and I can put my PPFD result (which gives for example, 51.8 readings) into LUX and all these different things, none of which match up with the usually triple digit reads to others LOL

LUX is almost pointless since it is weighted to green..To convert par ( ppfd) to lux you need to know the spectrum.

If you read 51.8 ppfd your " par" is 51.8

As to the others triple digit lights they are just stronger or closer.

that's what I was thinking originally but I have confused myself as you can see. Seemed wrong because all my corals are doing really good and growing. So even my par of 70 for where my Montis are that 'should be' at a par of 200-300.. haha

A noopsyche k7 pro III would probably light that tank nicely and will grow pretty much anything. It's sub $200 and comes with a mounting arm. These monti and the acro on the back wall were grown from little frags under noopsyche lights.

ooohhh monti goals! I only have two monti frags now that are growing over on the rock from their original plugs now (had them a little less than a month) and they seemed like they were doing really well but maybe not as THRIVE vibes as I thought LOL

The monti caps have been very good growers for me unlike digi which I struggle with. This orange is growing from a piece I broke of the one in the first image when I moved everything out. I love the shelving way it's growing instead of one big plate. I think it's from the high flow in this tank but not sure. This one is under photons tho not noopsyche just to mention it.
