Picture Request - KP Aquatics Starter Aquacultured Live Rock

If you’ve ordered KP Aquatic Starter Aquacultured Live Rock please post a picture. I’m looking to order 90-120 lbs in the near future because it looks like they are low on the regular rock. I’ve seen pictures of their other live rock and it looks pretty good, but haven’t seen too many of the stater rock.

I didn't get starter rock but I did buy 205 aquiculture live rock in two different shipments. Very happy. I got mine shipped in water. It was quite a lot more shipping but well worth it. Cycled in 6 days with 3 large water changes.

Most everything lived. Shipped in water is the way to go.!

If they're getting the primo deco rock out of the gulf, you could probably get a good idea of what it's got on it by looking at the threads on gulf live rock. Same area....... the gulf down by Florida.

I just received 40 pounds of starter rock from KP wrapped in wet paper. It has tons of microfauna....starfish, worms, crabs, shrimps.

@Clownfish2 thanks for posting. Rock looks good. Definitely better than what I’d consider base rock. Think I’m going to order later in the week.

I ordered 20lbs of the starter rock from them and was happy with what I received. Good coralline coverage and some macroalgae and gorgonian growth as well. I didn't receive any starfish, shrimp or crab hitchhikers that I have been able to find in the last month or so since I received it.

This is how I collected the creatures:

1. When you peel off the wet brown paper put the paper in a bucket of saltwater. After you get your rocks submerged in your tank or bucket, come back to the wet paper and look for crabs, starfish, worms, shrimp.

2. For the rocks, have 2 buckets of saltwater. Take each rock and plunge it up and down moderately in the first bucket. A lot of creatures will come off the rock this way. Second bucket holds the rock you had just shaken.
