So, I was hoping for some advice on an injury to my PS Gorg. I was removing some hair algae today and my hand accidentally caught one branch as I was pulling the algae loose. It looked like I pulled the outer layer of the coral loose from the skeleton (but not fully off).

I slid it back as it was before and the other branches look fine but the polyps on that one haven’t opened yet.

Any advice on this situation? Should I leave it because it will heal, fully remove that branch as an infection risk, just wait and see? Photo of the coral in question (from my Reddit post) attached.

TIA!

It will heal. My gorg has a branch that gets sucked into my gyre sometimes and the top of the branch gets stripped and just leaves a white nub, it always grows back.
