Someone directed me toward an auction on eBay stating that a seller was using my photo to sell Purple Hornets. So, I take a look for myself and see that its my photo for sure.
I contacted the seller to let them know that I would appreciate it if they would remove the photo from there auction. I told them that I would rather give them the chance to remove the photo rather than me contacting ebay to have them remove the auctions.
Here is the auction: Purple Hornet, 9 polyps, No Reserve, Free Shipping - eBay (item 300412618079 end time Apr-06-10 08:56:12 PDT)
Here is the response from the seller. He actually threatened to sue me!!
I don't have a good camera to take pics of my purple hornets. I found this pic using google. I punched in purple hornets on the search engine. Then I punched in images. This one came up. I didn't know it was illegal to get images from google. Maybe next time you should not be distributing it publicly. I got this pic using google. As far as I know it is public property. For all I know you could be pulling my leg. Besides all purple hornets look pretty much alike. Just people's pic taking ability and camera equipment is different. I suggest you leave me alone and take it up w/ google. I got if from their search engine. There's nothing on their site that says that this photo is copyrighted. You bother me again and I'll sue you for harrassment.
If you have an eBay account and dont agree with theft please report this person. To report the auction its on the top right of the page under Other Item Info.
