So I know I post walls of text here. I realize I'm Mr. TLDR. The thing is I like to document as much as possible but sometimes I get caught up in minutiae.

I really need to figure out how to get more people following my build. I’m hoping that anyone following me could give me some constructive criticism and tips.

I’m also going to try to compress my ideas so there’s no crushing wall of text.

Thank you to everyone who follows my build. I appreciate it.

If you ever check out my build thread I have 77 pages. Most is just text. A good way to get the party started here is like this:
@Mschmidt @Projects with Sam @Mibu @LRT @Lost in the Sauce @Stang67 @Jedi1199

Ladies and gentlemen, meet my friend @Fishy888 and his build thread. Any constructive criticism is welcome!

It has been a busy weekend so I haven't installed the sump yet. Part of the reason for that is that I unexpectedly got a new reefing partner. A friend had another friend who died. He owned a Goffin's cockatoo. I now have her since no one else wanted her. I couldn't be happier with her.

Back to the topic of this build... despite that the water came from the old tank it has cleared nicely. I believe the phyto dosing has been a big factor in that as well as the copepods.

All animals and inverts are doing great. Even the GSP are extending a bit more.

My second culture of tetraselmis almost crashed but it is now greener than it's ever been. It will likely be another week before I can split this culture up but it's getting greener by the day.

I have attached a picture of Kyliegh the cockatoo. I will get some pics of the reef later.

Came because I was tagged in, staying for the Goffins. I'd love to know everything about her.

I’m going to deal with them. I’ll just have to find a cure that isn’t worse than the disease.
Get on an Aggressive program to kalk paste every one you see, every time. It's not too late yet. It'll take a bit, but you'll be happy you did.

Your floor/rock is at an absolute premium in the 45 tall. I have majano in my reef and although they aren't that bad, They still are a pest. They still do annoy coral. It's too late to get them all in mine, Not yours.

She was a beauty and she loved me but sadly we had to give her to a rescue because she bit my wife and drew blood. More than once. She’s also tried to bite others too. Basically anyone who wasn’t me. I miss her terribly.

Nonetheless she was 40 years old and loved saying “hi”. She would say it in a lower pitch when she wanted to be naughty. I actually got her eating healthier food. I got her from someone who’s brother died of cancer. The bird ate a lot of junk food during the last couple of years of his life.

I just realized I said she came from a friend’s friend but I found out afterwards that it was her brother.

Yeah, I could tell that she was eating a lot of seed only and may have had some picking but is Beautiful! I love Goffins. What you're describing isn't exactly abnormal goffins behavior. They do LOVE their person.

I have a 90 gallon cube now. I kalk pasted every last one Tuesday night and yesterday afternoon. I’m watching closely for any new ones that might want to pop up.
You're going to keep finding them for a bit, but I can tell you it's a fight worth having now. It's a lot easier to see them in Windex.

Alright so constructive criticism on the thread.

Rule number one to me is you have to Go out and interact with others. Watching other people's threads is good, participating is better.

Your style is very wordy and precise. Preload the wall of text with pics or break up the thoughts within the post, with pictures.

I like what you're doing here. Wondering where the hell your phosphates are coming from. How long has your rock been wet?

Truth. I expect more to pop up but hopefully not too many. I only had 12 and most were on one rock. Three spread to other rocks and I got them.

How they spread is actually pretty incredible. They inflate their foot massively and get caught into the current and roll and catch somewhere else. There are dozens on the new rock that was just started with my tank build that's maybe a month old. They're not necessarily reproducing that quickly, but it's not uncommon for them to move around.

Thank you. I’ll try to interact more. My rock has been wet for a year now but due to Dino’s in the original 75 (detailed in another build thread which I linked to the first post in this thread), the transfer to the 45, a move (upgraded from the 45 to a different 75), and a leak (in the 75), then about a month in a 30 gallon cube until I ended up with a 90 gallon cube in late August, there hasn’t been any real stability. The 90 gallon cube is 30” x 30” x 25”. I didn’t flood it until early September however since I had to build the stand and all.

Dang that's been a ride! Sounds a lot like mine actually. (Lot of tanks in a little time)

It was a ride but it’s worth it to me. Things are looking up though. The corals are doing a little better each day and the fish and shrimp are doing well too. I’m about to add a new circulation pump that is absolutely amazing from the videos I’ve seen. I’m excited for the future of this system.

yep, now I have to open another window to read through the thread. I mean I need to do something at work right?

@Fishy888 I'm sure I've been in and out, your title sounds familiar. sorry I never stayed long. I'm not sure how to attract followers, but my nano thread was moving yesterday and it was all 3d printing talk.

It’s no problem lol. I do want more followers because the more I have the more good ideas and advice there’ll be. Plus it does feel nice to know I’m not just writing to myself lol. I appreciate the feedback.

Hmmmm just make sure the boss isn’t watching you watching me lol. ;)

I think I have wanted to, if I didn't actually start a few posts "so here I scream into the void". Really it was the giveaways "update your build thread once a week" that saw me through the early days. after that it was to @Lost in the Sauce 's point, interact on others' threads too. Or live sales. I've followed a few people from live sales.

hit ctrl + tab (toggles tabs) or alt + tab (toggles windows)
