Hello,

Since i'm pretty scared that my cat will jump trough my net cover, i'm planning on getting a polycarbonate lid.
My plan is to drill small holes for gas exchange & cut 2 corners to run some wires from wavemakers.
Also not planning to get jumping fish.

But is there something i should know before doing this? Any bad experiences?

Thanks in advance!

no ill effects to adding a polycarbonate lid to your tank. are you able to make your own lid cheaper than getting one made?

I know a guy who makes them and it’s pretty inexpensive for what you get.

I have a 75g with center brace and needed two lids for my tank. He took my measurements and design and made the set for 80-90$

how does this do with condensation build up on the underside of the lid? and salt creep (if any)?

I had air holes added for some circulation and for me to put wet things on floor drain back into the tank. Baster, tongs, etc

I didn’t want any portion open because I don’t buy fish for them to end up on my floor

They do get condensation but that’s the water that would evaporate. Salt creep isn’t bad. If you drip water on the top it will obviously dry and have salt creep. Underside doesn’t get creep. Condensation rinses it off

Mine came from @WalterLidz
