Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any experience with the pederson cleaner shrimp?? If so can they be kept with normal cleaner shrimp? So I was thinking maybe two of each in a 55 gallon tank thanks for the input and info in advance!

They are absolutely tiny and my cleaner shrimp harassed every other shrimp smaller than it.

So safe to say they are probably not suitable together lol is there any other shrimp that would be suitable with just the normal cleaner shrimp

I have two penderson and I love them. Excellent little critters, I also have 7 sexy shrimp, 5 peppermints, a blood red fire shrimp, a Randalls pistol shrimp and 3 bumble bee shrimp... And believe it or not, everything gets along just fine, each has their own little section of the tank and they respect each others domain

The larger cleaners may mess with them, but with sufficient space I think it's unlikely. When they're settled and recognize you as a fish needing cleaning, they will act super excited (shaking their antennae around) and swim over to you and it's adorable.

I would hesitate with a pistol - with sufficient space and something for them to hide in, likely not a problem, but there's potential for it. I would avoid an anemone pistol shrimp in particular.

Keep in mind that they are more sensitive to changes in salinity than most shrimp, so if you ever have to do a correction, it must be done very gradually. Also makes it trickier to make work in a small nano without an ATO, and it's worth checking the bag salinity when you begin acclimation.

Pistol shrimps do not need a goby, but it’s kind of like having a blind grandmother without a service dog, since pistol shrimps are nearly blind
I think I am going to get a orange prawn goby to pair with a red banded pistol shrimp, that's a pretty cool relationship they have and would like it in my tank!

I've done cleaners in pairs and also had cleaners with coral banded, blood red, and peppermint. The pederson is very tiny. Mine was lost and never seen after adding one a few years back.
Have you had any experience with emerald crabs? I was going to get one or two but was reading that they may kill my shrimp, I would also like a couple peppermint shrimp to go with a cleaner

Thank you for the information! I'm still in the cycle phase but just trying to do my research and learns from the ones who know!
