We all know this hobby is an expensive addiction. So when it comes to new equipment purchases, we all want to make the best decision that way we have left over money for more corals and fishes. This is where I need fellow reefers advice. Recently, many Orphek Atlantik owners found their Atlantik v2.1 software no longer function with latest Android release. For me, that means I can no longer make changes to the lighting configuration and/or lighting schedule. For about $1000, I can do a hardware upgrade to my 2 fixtures to current version 4.0, boards and LED’s. For about $800 I can get a brand new Radion Pro G4 with better resale value and with my other G4 (won in a raffle) I am in business. I’m not sure how Orphek owner’s experience has been with the manufacture is, mine hasn’t been very customer friendly compare to my experience with EcoTech Marine. It might have started with a certain rogue sale staff from Orphek that is no longer there, but it hasn’t really improved since my recent inquiry with the company. I’m leaning toward the Radion Pro option, but in the end it’s all about the corals. So would an Orphek owner or Radion owner shed some light into why I should pick one over the other. Thanks in advance.

Yea. I dunno. You can grow corals just as well with a light that costs a couple hundred just as well. That's beeen proven.
I figure inside the broken led you have is the same bascic board everyone has in their leds to control them regardless of the industry it's being used in. You have to be able to hack the hardware and control it. Ya can on a $100 mars Aqua.

Me I'd let my wife deal with Orphic. She would destroy them.

Then me of course.

I have Radions. 8 to be exact. Love em. With the Reeflink I can get full control with a click of the mouse. Swapped to the Radions from Halides and haven't looked back... Plus.. My electric bill went down $150 a month..

I'm new to the reef aquarium hobby and I'm in the process of figuring out which type of lighting I want to get and also which exact light fixture I want to get. Been on the fence between MH and LED. I'm now leaning toward LEDs and 99% positive I will be getting the Radions after these pics I just saw! So beautiful sromero287!!! Killer tank! What size may I ask?
