Hi again!

As you may have seen my tanks bday post, 1 year :star-struck:

When I purchased my setup it was completely 100% recommendation of the single person I spoke with at the LFS I was in (even the lights from Amazon) did I learn from that mistake? Yes.

If you all don't mind I would appreciate thoughts on the first thing to do now that I have made it through the first year.
This is what I currently have:
Tank - 48x18x21 75 Gallon Marineland Aquarium
Lights - ViparSpectra 165w Light (2)
Filter - Fluval FX6 Aquarium Canister Filter
UV - Coralife Turbo Twist UV Sterilizer - 3X - 9V
UV Pump - Syncra Silent 0.5 Pump (185 GPH)
Heater - Aqua Top 500 WATT TITANIUM HEATER W/CONT

Other items so you are aware - TMI I am sure...........
Sicce XStream 3500 Wave Pump - 925 GPH (2)
Aqua Clear 20 PWR Heads (2)
Loose Rocks .30 per LB
CARIB FLORIDA CRUSH CORAL 40
CARIB ARAGONITE REEF SAND 40

Thank you in advance for playing "WHAT DOES HE NEED NOW"!! :)

If everything it going well, then the next thing to do is to sit back and enjoy it simply. You would also want to stay on top of any tank maintenance and equipment.

Thank you, I get to enjoy this tank everyday right in my office. Reason for the post was to get opinions such as yours. The saying "I don't know what I don't know" fits my reefing knowledge pretty well. Have a great night!

Apologies, I do have that.. did not list that as I purchased that later.. simply forgot..thank you for the reply. I do not however have a skimmer. That seems to be popular.

I was also thinking a skimmer as well, but some don’t use a skimmer and have success.

I would prioritize ATO over a skimmer at this point.
Thank you, I am looking at both. Doing some homework, since I have the Apex jr. is there any reason I wouldn't purchase the Neptune ATO?

I have the Apex Jr. I am aware of the Trident but have not looked into it to deeply as of yet. I do plan on adding corals, just waiting to see if the parameters of my tank change any further. Once I know what "normal" for my tank is I will purchase the corals that are able to withstand those parameters. No use just killing corals..
Thank you so much for the replies, they are really appreciated.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. No need for a skimmer unless you've found a need.

Though you might like an ATO.

Micromussa is the actual genus name for "Acan lords", and there are a couple other micromussa species running around in the hobby.
