This is my post from 7/19/20: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/help-sick-fish.740872/#post-7800478
In summary: We believe a Yellow Tang brought in an illness. Yellow Tang died 7/3 and Tomini Tang died 7/17. The tangs were introduced 6/27. Filefish introduced at the end of May died 7/19. Hawkfish still alive and improving but still has a coating/discoloration. Other fish, 2 clowns, a azure damsel, diamond watchman goby, orange backed fairy wrasse, and a China Wrasse all appear healthy. Everyone is eating well.
What we've done to this point: 30gal water change on 7/19. Dosed Rally into the tank per bottled instructions for 7 days before turning the protein skimmer and UV sterilizer back on (had been off since we dosed the Rally). After the skimmer was back on for a few days we started Kanaplex + Focus mixed with brine shrimp and Selcon. I mixed up 11 days worth of doses and frozen them. I have another 2 doses to go. Trying to decide what our next step is. Hawkfish doesn't appear 100% and I don't want to stop treatment for whatever it is to come back.
*Did a 25gal water change 8/1 and started reef flux (fluconazole) for bryopsis. Skimmer cup was off for 3 days and put back on Tuesday evening.
Tank running for 1yr. 180gal total.
water testing from 8/1 couple hour after water change:
Temp: 78
pH: 8
Nitrate: 12
Phosphate: 0.25
Alk: 8.7
Salinity: 1.024
Magnesium: 1310
Calcium: 430
Test kits:
Hanna check for Alk, Salifert for phosphate, API for pH, NYOS for Nitrate, and a refractor for the salinity.
We feed brine and mysis shrimp, reef frenzy, and added masstick for the china wrasse.
