what would you think is the best option

the 400 dollar battle box with 10 corals
Or 9 corals that are priced around the same amount slightly higher?

Can't really go wrong either way. Could probably add notes what you're interested in with the box option and Adam may accommodate some of your requests. Best of both worlds.

With it being a new tank I would definitely go with the cheaper 10 piece battlebox and tell Adam to pick the hardiest corals. He will probably know better than you which ones have the best chance of surviving in a new tank.

Honeslty though I wouldn’t be willing to put that many sps corals in that new of a tank. I know they may survive but their odds go down drastically. Why not start with a cheap frag or two that hopefully you could get locally to see how it goes before ordering from BC. Probably not the answer you’d expect on a vendors sale thread, but it be a shame to try to get sps corals too early and have them all die.

In that case I’d still pick the box and let Adam decide.

In the interest of full disclosure I have never even consider buying anything other than battleboxes.
