I bought an ocellaris clownfish just shy of 2 years ago. At the time it was the "standard" orange color with one white band not fully wrapping around the fish.
In retrospect, the orange on the dorsum was a bit dusky. Several months latter I noticed the orange was turning darker, especially on the dorsal surface.
With time the fish shifted to an all black fish with white stripes.
The only remaining orange was just on the face around the mouth. Fast forward about 1 year and the ventral surface from the mouth to the vent changed back to bright orange.
Now, in the last month, the dorsal surface has a hint of orange. I can see it, but my video does not do it justice.
Has anyone had this experience before?
I will attach photos. I have found Chrome works better than Safari for viewing .mov files
Sorry, these are not the best as I didn't know in the then that I needed to photo document this change.
I never captured the peak of the black coloration.
Also, the original mate seen in the Apr 21 video died and was placed with a new clown that appears in later images.
