I guess it was about time that I started my build thread for one of our tanks we set up in February this year. This is our 150 customs build Acrylic 5ft by 2 ft x 2 foot tank. Bottom drilled with corner over flow. Also a custom built stand and top. Tank is fully in closed removable acrylic panels to keep fish in. Lights are only Current IC Loop 48’s two of them set for a 9 hour with ramp up and down to noon light . Yes you can grow corals under them. Custom made acrylic sump with HOS Oct Skimmer, Sea Lettuce Fuge in middle lit by led 7 w grow light, phosban reactor running PhodGuard 24/7, Carbon in bag once a month, As of Now Finnex main heaters with controller, backup heater connected to apex. Apex is running Two Gen-X external return pumps ( Old School I know) looking into getting two COR 20s once my LFS gets them in. No UV, One Sock, two power heads one China Blue Version and and Current wave pump set on 15 sec surge mode. (Also looking into apex wav’s. This is my first apex tank so a lot of our equipment is Proly way outdated from most reefers. I will update pics and a full equipment list that will change as I come into the new age of Reefing. I have been into tanks since the 90,s fresh then salt 10,20,50,70,150 and qt tanks planning a move to 200 glass working on new stand now and bracing the house more. This tank cycled FISHLESS for four months. With live Sand, Dry Rock Man Made rock never in ocean with a rotting shrimp without lights. Slow ramp up time with lights after and introduced inverts, then Diamond back goby after many months of adding copods and phyto from algae barn. Then Hippo Tang for algae control. Will update full list of fish and inverts.
