Corallite is too big, and it seems solitary while Phyllangia is colonialMAYBE "hidden cup coral"
I will admit, this is similar to my Button Scoly at night when it hits feeding mode.I bought this coral from my lfs today. They said that they don’t know what kind of nps it is. Can anyone help identify it.
Doesn't look like any Dendrophylliid I know; might be some sort of Caryophylliid. Is it some sort of Denro? Here's a pic of it when it is closed.
Will that survive in a reef tank?
It looks like said above Blanophyllia. I had 2 of these in my nps tank along with 3 rhizos and lots of sun corals and dendros. The blanos and rhizos never split or grew new ones while the others grew like mad. If they spawned I never saw it, and if they did they didnt attach anywhere they could grow.
Yeah I had 3. 2 Were purchased healthy and remained healthy and happy. 1 was surrendered to the lfs and it continued down hill. I took it home fragged off the dead or dying half and nursed it back to health. It steadily improved growing back the half it lost but smaller. Took about 2 years for it to look normalish again.
Oooh rhizos?
