I shot these images with the Nikon D3. Figured some of you would like to see them.

Ahhh... The D3. This camera is tempting.... If only I didn't have to buy all new glass to go with it. (I am a HUGE Canon fan, but this camera is just something else all together!)

Thanks! It's an amazing camera. I'm keeping it at the studio though. I may use it for the tank, but that's why I got the D300. :D

on macro, and having to do color balancing anyany, i dont see a huge advantage using the D3 anyway for tank shots.

now the 8 million of reasons to use a camera, that would not be the case.

its really amazing how similar they really are for the $3k difference.

BTW, i only shot the 85mm 1.8 twice since i got it, but i will say its pretty darn sweet...wishing i had the dough for the 1.4, but someday.

the Sigma 10-20 is awesome as well. Ive never had a wide angle before. Very cool barrel distortion.

I know. there isn't a whole lot of difference. Definitely not $3000 worth. :)

Nice pics. Are you gonna try and pursue it?

id love to on a hobby level. Id love to take some more classes or something.

But, with 2 really young kids i doubt i would ever find the time.

definitely something i love though. I might check out the local community college and see what classes they offer.

For tank pictures, I agree, not a huge difference. That being said though, I could not put my 1D down for a least 2 weeks when it came in. I have not picked up the 20D since.... I think I will upgrade to the 1D3 next year, and move the 1D2 to Stacey's bag.
