anyone? thought?

$40 is alot for a strainer. The OEM part is only $11 and it comes with barbs. I simply cut mine down to size with pliers. I do understand your part is CNC and is of higher grade but is it really needed for the return pump?

I understand and agree with you that this cost more than the OEM and also kind of overkill for a strainer. Here is how I justified making 3 for $200.
1. Better protection then the OEM since it draw water from all direction instead of just the front.
2. Better flow since the intake is not reduced by the strainer, which increase flow, which also reduce drag and save power.
3. Compact enough to use in a small sump even compare to the modified OEM.
