Hi there, we are new to saltwater here and got an Aiptasia Filefish yesterday. The fish had a traumatic experience at Petco. They took it out with a net and the fish got stuck really bad. They then laid the net on the counter for a few seconds to cut the fish out. Today is the fish’s first day in our tank, we checked our water parameters and all is good. There are white spots appearing on him and his eyes look a little cloudy. What is happening.

What was the outcome on your fish trauma?

Sorry nobody responded. I just found your post from nearly a month ago while searching for posts about netting fish. So sorry this happened - I bought a fish from Petco last week and during a conversation with the employee she mentioned that they are not allowed to use nets on marine fish because of the risk of injury to the fish. I don't know if this is a policy at all Petcos or just something at the one I go to, but the employees at mine seem pretty knowledgeable and conscientious, especially the one who runs that department.
