Hello my name is Jake, I am new to salt and reef and very inexperienced. I learned of Reef2Reef from BRS and decided to jump in! I started with a 55 gallon but Ive had the tank over 20 years and just bought a new house so I wasnt sure I wanted to trust a 20 year tank in a brand new home so I used that as an excuse to buy a new 75 gallon. I dont have any fish yet but I do have some corals and anemones in the tank. This isnmy progress so far and tonight I am going to get a couple guys for the clean up crew but not much as the tank is still very clean and I dont want to starve my crew. I look forward to learning from the experience and those who have gone before me.

Hey! I started with a 75g also. Let me tell ya, getting a new tank was spot on. You did well. My 75 sprung a leak 6 months in cause it was used and not stored properly. I upgraded to a 90 and had that 5 years back in the day. If you had freshwater before, this is going to be very different. Just pour through the articles here and read up on topics within the threads. You'll do fine! So Greetings and Welcome!

Thank you so much. I have mostly been learning from Bulk Reef Supplys YouTube channel and a local mentor who owns an aquarium shop. There is so much to learn! I appreciate the welcome!

Thank you for all the messages! I appreciate it very much! I had a pleasant surprise tonight! I had a piece of very old live rock on it that had Aptasia. I had it in a quarantine tank as I want to keep the rock without introducing Aptasia to my system. I was treating the Aptasia with Aptasia F and I noticed some little tiny legs sticking out of one of the holes in the rock... I did a little research, pulled the rock out of the water for about 4 minutes in a bucket and two brittle starfish and a little shrimp came out! I dont know what kind of shrimp it is but got 3 new members of the tank by surprise tonight on top of the emerald crab and couple snails I added tonight!
