New to Middle Tennessee but not Reef Tanks

Hi all,

I see there is a MT reef club located on this forum. Though I stop in and say hi.

I have been doing reef tanks since 2005. I sold everything in 2009 and just starring back up again with a 90 gallon.

I noticed that frag swap for MTRC but I am not a member yet and I have no corals in the tank. Do people typically accept cash for the frags here in Middle Tennessee?

Don't have much in the tank right now just a single purple firefish.

Welcome Tim we would love to have you come to a meeting the Coral Expo is open to public most will except cash and cards this Expo is for vendors so it won’t be your traditional Frag Swap. We had one last month and planning another one for the fall where members can swap and trade coral and equipment. Make sure you look me up at the swap I am the President of MTRC and would like to meet you and introduce to some members and get you coming to our meeting and join if you like. Our meetings are always open to anyone who like to come also. Next one is June 16th at Emerald Bay Aquatics at 5PM we would love to have you come join us.

Yes and it don’t seem to hurt the pocket either like that lol. We are going to have a coral savings fund started for next year cause our pocket is crying lol.

Welcome back! You stopped around the same time as I did and I started backup this past February. It's bad for me to be at the swap cause there's so much to look and wanting to buy everything....lol

I know what you mean I went with a stick limit on what to spend. Otherwise I will have easily spent a lot more. There were lots of nice corals to choose from.

I had to replace a couple of things I've lost which I got them at the swap. Figured out what I did to kill them. I am being a lot more careful now. I was dosing and I dumped it around the return and it came out at the frogspawns. It killed them off. Made me real mad....
