Hello reefers, I just moved to Maryville from Michigan and have multiple reef tanks. The move was a PAIN! but only lost 2 fish, which was just bad luck really. Anyway, I am looking around and I can't seem to find an updated list of LFS in the area. if you guys could help me out by letting me know my options near Maryville and also, if any of them sell RODI water or premixed salt water. I just ordered a new RODI system from BRS, but won't be here until Wednesday or so, and my current system is not working right, so I need some top off water ASAP. Please let me know, thanks!!

Welcome! The closest store to you moved out of the area in June. The Aquarium on papermill is now your closest but I don't know if they sell water or not. Aquatic marine on Clinton highway is your other option. They sell water mixed and not but last I checked it was RO only.

Dave, you rock, thanks so much!! I usually find and visit all shops, but out of curiosity, which store do you prefer? And are there any that you would recommend that require a little drive?

Welcome to East TN!!! The Aquarium on Papermill sells RO water and premixed saltwater, I'm not sure what salt they use. Aquatic Marine also has RO water and premixed saltwater, "AM" uses ReefCrystals brand salt.

Generally I think you'll find most prefer Aquatic Marine but you should form your own opinion. I don't know where you're from in Michigan but our LFS store selection may differ from what you're accustomed to.

I frequently visit both stores, I prefer aquatic marine because Jake, Trey, and the others that I have dealt with are great.

When I go to aquarium I prefer to deal with Devin or Will. Those guys are great and so is Sarah.

Welcome to tn!

Thanks for the input guys. There wasn't a very big selection where I was in Michigan. I just like to get a local's point of view, based on experience with the LFS, pricing, health of the corals and fish and as Reefrookie220 said, the folks that work there. I was spoiled for the first 34 years of my life in the DFW area and then again for several years in the Chicago area, so it would be nice to have some decent LFS to help support :) I really appreciate the input everyone!! And a big thanks to Ole Man for the hook up on some RO water!! I missed the helpful, friendly people in the south!! Good to be back, except this HEAT lately lol.

Welcome to town Doug!
If you're in a position where you need RO/DI pronto, I always have 40g on hand.
Great reefing community here in K-town.

Welcome Doug! I also usually have 30-50 gallons of RODI on hand if you're in a bind. I'm in south Knox near the airport. Don't hesitate to ask.

As far as LFS go, I use all of them about equally. However, some of the weekend help at Aquatic Marine can be hard to deal with...... (@Rob.D) :p

Welcome to the area. Im not far from you, i live in loudon and actually work in maryville. I always have 30+ gallons of RO on hand and typically 20-25 of saltwater mixed and ready at all times if your ever in need. As mentioned we have 3 stores around us, my store of choice is the coral reef which is unfortunately the farthest away now but still worth the trip to me. Enjoy browsing dry goods at the aquarium and always swing by Aquatic marine because they are the only local place that carrys Larry's Reef Frenzy food lol.

Thanks, Trey! I got my RODI system in and my tank is up and running, will be moving my corals and fish over in the following days. It's been a hectic 2 weeks since our move, I forgot how much of a pain it is to move a system!! Thanks for the insight and especially about the reef frenzy, I have always wanted to try that food out and now I can! Looks like I will be making a trip there this week :) We drove to the Ft. Loudon state park the other day, so awesome here!!

When I made this post, I assumed ETRC was just part of R2R lol, Buddy filled me in a little on the area clubs and was kind enough to invite me to a meeting last Saturday, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend. I'd really like to join the ETRC and help support the club, so question is.... Who do I need to speak with about membership? :)
