Recently purchased a used Marineland Deep Dimension 200. I have been working on ideas for stock list. Leaning towards more aggressive tank. I love all the different thalassoma wrasses. (Lunare, Banana, Hardwick, Paddlefin, Pinkface, Saddle, Bluehead and Blunthead) With an empty tank how many of these different fish could I put in my tank. (Hopefully more than one) My plan would be to add them all at once. I know the lunare and banana are probably the most aggressive of that species. I was hoping at the very least to add maybe some of the smaller species (Blunthead, Paddlefin and Pinkface) with or without a larger one. Does anyone have experience keeping multiple thalassoma wrasses? I've read some people who have kept 2 of these fish together. Let me know your thoughts. I do have a spare 125 gallon aquarium in the event of a catastrophe.

I have kept cichlids in the past and the best way to deal with aggression was lots of hiding spots and keeping multiple numbers of the same fish. Saltwater aggression seems a little more complicated. I was hoping adding multiple species at the same time would curb aggression. Like with multiple tangs. Am I wrong to think adding multiple thalassoma at the same time would reduce most of the aggression?

Welcome aboard, Nick!

I'm not sure that wrasses work like cichlids - marines will sometimes pick just one fish to vent their anger on. We've got a couple of folks here who know wrasses as well as anyone; @evolved and @eatbreakfast. Hopefully, they'll be able to answer this one for you!
