So I’ve set up a 90 gal with a 40 breeder as a sump. Dry rock that looks like it used to be live with some dry base rock. A bag of live sand with 2 bags of dry Bahamian sand. Tanks been running for 2 weeks now. First week I just let it run without adding anything to it. Started to get ammonia in my test kit. This past Tuesday I added a bottle of microbacter quick start and started testing like bottle said to do. My ammonia has been in the 3.0 range while nitrite jumped to 1+ and now I’m getting nitrate on my tests. Goin on day 4 and ammonia is no where near where bottle sayin it should be. Added another bottle of Fritz enzyme yesterday and no change in tests. Any idea what this tank is doing? Test kit is red sea master kit.
