Well the big day is coming soon, I’m diving in to setting up my 150 g and 39g sump. Do I put a refugium with sand, mud, chaeto and rocks with copepods from algae barn into the sump or just rock and algae? Doing the plumbing on June 10th,11th. Getting help from Aquatic realmz in Milwaukee those two days here’s some photos of my reserve tanks for salt water and rodi water.

Welcome! For the refugium I think its just rocks and algae, but I could be wrong. Cant wait to see the end results!

Welcome!

Keep us posted on progress. Glad you joined

+1 vote macroalgae in sump section

Is there not enough rockwork going to be in main tank, if not, then +1 vote rocks in sump too

I don't use mud in my sump and wouldn't want it near my return or skimmer pumps, so I'll defer to others on mud.

Welcome to Reef2Reef! Mud is an option although it is a bit more of a specialty choice. Many times there is enough rock in the aquascape that no additional rock is necessary in the sump, but it is a possibility.

I worked in a fish store owned by two queer folk in the 90’s and the number of reefers or fish keepers who may have identified as women was much less than 20% back then. It may be up to 35% now, just guessing from observing at the LFS and I am happy to see more people from all persuasions joining us together to enjoy this life reefing at home.

I cannot change my (often “bad”) behavior but I pray that my victims of rough humor will realize that she started it! (I’m supporting her, in a non pc fashion perhaps?)

We can do great things together
I reported myself-just in case?
