Welcome to R2R and thank you for your first post! It looks like you are already off to a good start, but if you haven't already read the R2R article The Supreme Guide Saltwater Reef Aquariums, then I would recommend that you read it now. Some of it may address steps that you have already passed and you may also find information about your "aquascaping and all that" questions.

Welcome! very nice looking tank. I love the smaller ones. We do have a aqua scape forum with lots of excellent pictures you can browse for ideas. Pretty much just depends on where you trying to go with you tank and what you like.

Personally I think you nailed it!

Feel free to post more questions too! Lots of people on here love to help!

Welcome!
I love the big arch!
From the looks of things, I'd say that maybe you should be the one giving tips!

The only suggestion I would make, is the green star polyps (the green grassy stuff at the top). Move them down low, on their own isolated rock in the sand. They grow fast, and in 6-8 weeks where they are now, they'll cover the entire top of your rocks and start to work their way relentlessly down.

Polyp polynomial: How many heads do you start with when buying zoas?

  • 2 to 4 heads.

  • 5 heads or more.
