Hey guys, I picked up a new RO unit a week ago and got a separate DI canister and hooked it up. I haven't been able to get 0 TDS, after RO is 2 TDS and after DI still 2 TDS. Am I missing something? Tap water is 70 TDS. I picked up all the equipment from a LFS.

Are you using a pre-filter + Carbon Block along with the DI? and RO Membrane?
Are you sure your TDS meter is reading 'correctly'?

Perhaps a picture - to Make sure its set up correctly would help?

How are you measuring the tds? If with an inline metre then yes the tds should be zero, but if you are using a tds pen, it’s very easy for the container the rodi water is in to be adding tds to the water, either use a glass container or keep rinsing the container with rodi water and you will get a zero reading.

Yes, if I'm not mistaken they are Yellow and Blue, the first one is 1 Micron filter.

I even went back to the LFS and the owner gave me a 1 use DI cartage, but made no difference in the reading.
The only thing I can think of is that your TDS monitor is 'wrong' - or that somewhere (like where your RO membrane is) - there is a small leak where not all the water is going through whatever 'filter' its supposed to go through. This happened to me once when one of the rubber seals on the RO membrane had a small 'crease' . This resulted in a much higher amount of water produced - than usual - and a higher than normal TDS. Is your system producing approximately the amount of water it should be?
