Hey y'all my new max nano g2 xl.... alk is dropping fast I do weekly water changes of 5 gallons but that is not keeping the alk where I want it.......my red sea salt blue bucket mixing at 8.5 dkh...its dropping from 8.5 to around 7 to 6.8 dkh in 7 days...is this normal in new tank?? it's been up for 2 weeks no corals yet just fish.....I started adding alk to the tank in between water changes...

Fish do not care about ALK, the fluctuation will not hurt them. Sound like a testing error as with no corals their is nothing to reduce the alk.
