Hello to all!!
I am Alex new member from California.
Currently looking into jumping into the hobby.
Been reading and watching videos to suck up as much info as possible to start a new tank!
Options in mind are innovative marine fusion 25g lagoon aio or 40gmini pro aio.Went to a local shop and they offered Red Sea max nano g2 or even g2 XL both with stand and…but spending over 1k for first tank seems kinda scary lol.
But as of now I’m leaning more towards the 25 lagoon…only fear is wanting to upgrade later on in the near future to a bigger thank .
Any advice will be appreciated!

welcome.

i will be honest, I've had tanks from 10 gallons up to 340 gallons, FW and SW. I have realized that it really depends on what you are looking to achieve. I am currently working on a 15 gallon cube for the challenge, and really want my next tank to be 6-8ft long more then anything just for swimming room and tons of space for coral.

You will want a bigger tank in the future, but that doesn't mean you will get rid of the other one.

Hello Alex and Welcome to R2R! Many years ago I was informed to buy the biggest tank I could afford and make sure it would fit in the desired location. I purchased a 180g and never regretted it. I had the tank for over 10 years and gave up as I could not keep a lot of things alive. Many years later I'm back into the hobby and purchased another 180g. Through this website and being able to acquire the pertinent information required to have a successful reef, I have a reef tank that I was not capable of maintaining years ago. I couldn't have anything smaller but that is just me!

I did the same thing as @Buckster back in the day. Mine was a 90g in my Dining Room (couldn't do the Living Room cause of carpet). That's long gone now and I'm now getting the absolute biggest tank I can fit on the main level of my house. This time in the Living Room after we lay down some tile. It'll be 200g plus or minus. The bigger the better man. The bigger the better......

So Greetings and Welcome to our collective obsession!!!!
