I finally bought a macro lens for my Canon dslr. It’s been years since I used a macro lens and forgot how difficult they are to focus but I’m getting better. Any tips would be appreciated

Which macro.lense did u get ?
Macro.lenses can br a bit slower to focus but they focus great. Yet at that higher magnification rates many artefacts become.more visible.
While the shots aren't bad at all, looking closer you see some distortions which can have multiple reasons:
Shooting at an angle instead if perpendicular to the glass.
Motion whether subject motion or handshake.
So I'd start with working to get faster shutter speeds or using a tripod (especially with a macro lense) and then shooting perpendicular to glass to minimize distortions.
I'd also improve composition where most of the subjects are centered in your frames. Composition wize I like first shot which even though mushroom.is centered the focus on the side of the mushroom creates interesting lines with the mushroom getting more blurred as it moves back ....

I got a Canon 100mm 2.8 . I know I need a tripod and am currently looking for one. I usually shoot at the smallest f stop that I can while maintaining a shutter speed of 125 because I’m shooting handheld. A tripod would allow for slower speeds and more depth of field. Thanks for the comments , pics will definitely get better from here
