Yesterday, The Aquarium had their customer appreciation day...free food and all. I went by to see what they had, and saw a powder brown tang that as one of the most colorful I have ever seen. It's quite a bit smaller than all my other tangs, maybe 1/3 of the smallest other tang. I put him in, and he got chased a little bit at first, but no damage done. He's very fast, and didn't even seem concerned about being chased, as if he was confident in his abilities to get away. He stayed out in the open immediately, and still does, grazing off the rocks almost nonstop. Anyway, here's some pictures. I'm not thatgood at taking pictures, and it appears my camera either can't go past 400 speed, or I can't remember how do to it.

I wish the second pic had gotten him more from the side, but this fish never stops.
My hippo tang is now about 8" long and probably 1.5" thick. He's getting fat.

That explains the black widow I found in my stand yesterday. I'm thinking I need more air flow in there. Lol:roll:

You wouldn't happen to like tangs. Lol very nice.
Kinda odd that I have wound up with so many, and such a high percentage of tangs. I guess it's somewhat been due to just finding fish that are compatible with corals, crabs, snails and the other fish. A couple of them were bought to help control hair algae. I'm not so sure they did a lot to actually get rid of what I have, but after I cleaned the rock, they have been keeping up and I haven't had any troubles.

I don't think I got any pics today of my Red Coris Wrasse. He's growing but spends a lot of time under the sand. They must just come out to feed...and he has no trouble finding enough food quickly in my tank. I also have a maroon clown that hides in the rocks a lot, dragon goby, and a mandarin goby, along with a couple urchins and tons of snails and crabs. I'm about to buy 200 more crabs too.

I kinda like it. :)

For somebody that's been in this hobby as little time as I have (saltwater, at least), I've got it looking pretty nice. I've posted before, with pics. You could look them up if you want. I've lost a few fish along the way, and some corals, but the frequency of that is going down, thankfully!! I'm a minimalist, in that I want to minimalize the amount of work that something requires...so I plumbed it into the basement, big skimmer, sumps, 3ft sock filter (lasts about 4 days), and such.

Thanks for the compliments.

I went to the customer appreciation sale also. I bought me a blue hippo tang . The only one they had that was still in the quarantine tanks way in the back. He is a little fellow and has made himself the center of attraction in the display. He stays busy working over the rocks.
