I have a fairly new tank with 2 clowns and a few other corals doing fine. Params are great via Hanna multiclecker. I was gifted a small BTA by my LFS. When trying to xfer to the tank the RFG caught it and blew it down to a sand/rock crevice. It's attached down there and is kind of in the fine sand a bit. The tentacles are put about 1/2 way until the lights dim. It's been about 36 hours and it hasn't decided to move. It's in a crevice between the sand and rock, where the goby has created a gap. Should I try to move it or just wait to see what happens? Will it have issues being basically laying in fine sand on one side? Tentacles have been in and out. Light is prob 15% of the rest of the tank where it is.

Do you have pictures?
Sorry for the delay, I have been monitoring the nem for a few days. No change really in location but moving slightly. Like 1/8" at most. Today I did some tank maintenance and scooped a lot of sand away from its location. Attaching a pic during moonlight phase where you can see the nems location under the rock. Until today it was really half buried in sand off and on. The tips come out during light time but not near fully extended or filled. But not terrible either. Hoping it decides to find some sun!

It's getting used to your tank.

Like suggested above, I'd leave it alone - it'll eventually decide to stay or move somewhere else - probably move.

Update - the nem moved out onto the sand bed and took a water current ride up to my wavemaker which I luckily had the guard on. Stayed there for a few mins and dropped down and decided to attach to a nearby frag holder that twists into the sand. So now it's basically laying on its side and occasionally getting sand puffed on by the goby digging. I feel like it really wouldn't like the situation but I'll let it figure itself out.

What are the parameters in your tank? Do you have pictures of where the anemone is now?
Params yesterday:

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0.5
Nitrate - 17
pH - 7.5
Alkalinity - 13.6 dKH
Calcium - 381 ppm
Magnesium - 1095 ppm
Phosphate - 0.36 ppm

I'll post a picture when I get home later!

Two months and one day. I learned after receiving the nem (freebie) that they typically don't like tanks younger than 6-8 months or more. I'm just trying to help the little guy along now.

I put a rock close and the nem transferred to the rock overnight. Still looks unhappy and the dang goby keeps getting sand on it.
